When I first saw this topic which we were supposed to write about I thought to myself, what on earth was our lecturer thinking? Fish falling from the sky, now that’s just crazy. However, the more I thought about this topic the more it began to tickle my curiosity therefore I took to Google and did some digging.

According to Wikipedia, raining animals is a very rare meteorological phenomenon in which flightless animals “rain” from the sky. It is said that many countries throughout history has reported such occurrences, arguing that strong winds such as tornadoes pick up creatures such as frogs and fish and carry them for several miles, this however has never been witnessed nor scientifically tested.

I am very cynical as to whether this raining of animals actually happened and personally I believe that the only time anything other than water and hail rained, it was when God opened the heavens to feed his people. Exodus 16 verse 4 states the following:
“Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions”.
