Good news for fish fans! There’s some clever hacks for banishing the odour – and they’ll help banish the odour in minutes
Cook your fish straight away: It may be a no-brainer but the longer you leave fish in the fridge, the worse the odour will get. The experts recommend whipping up your favourite fishy dish as soon as you get home.
Soak the fish in milk: It may sound bizarre but the experts say that leaving your fish to soak in milk will help banish the strange scent.
Why? Because the protein called casein that you find it milk sticks to the trimethylamine in fish. This is the compound that gives fish its distinct smell. When you rinse the milk off, the trimethylamine goes with it.
Leave a bowl of vinegar out: Place a bowl of acidic vinegar next to the oven or hob and leave it there for a few hours to banish the smell.
Slice some potatoes: If your tupperware or dishes stink of fish, slice two potatoes in half, sprinkle them with salt and leave them in the container for a few hours before rinsing it.

Cook it in a towel: If you’re heating fish in the microwave, simply place a wet towel doused in soap in the microwave, heat it for a few minutes and let it cool down in there to banish the smell.
